An official opening by ECB Chairman Giles Clarke CBE was held on 3rd December 2009 with former England test bowler Andrew Caddick in attendance.
The facility is regarded as one of the most state of the art in the country with high quality specifications of flooring and lighting installed. There are five bays, spacious upstairs viewing area, numerous meeting rooms, a lift, toilets and offices.

There have a
lready been some notable visitors to the Centre. England Women's Captain Charlotte Edwards CBE and Claire Connor gave a Press Conference ahead of a Cornish Cricket Festival as did former England spinner John Emburey. Ex first class players Chris Taylor and Steffan Jones ran coaching sessions and in November 2014 the Centre held its first Sporting Dinner with Steve Harmison, Geraint Jones and football's John Hartson the special guests..

The Cornwall Cricket Centre is part of the Truro College campus situated a couple of miles west of Truro City Centre, just off the main A390 road to Redruth and the west of the county.
