A first girls' club youth tournament was held on Tuesday 14th August 2012 at the Cornwall Youth Cricket Festival, in Penryn. Seven teams took part in this Under 13 event, which was won by St Erme CC, who defeated Walmley CC (Birmingham) in the final.
2013 competitions:
Sunday 19th May Under 13 Helston CC
Results: Falmouth 77-4, Helston 22-6; Falmouth 63-3, St Just 61-3; St Just 74-3, Helston 63-4 Falmouth win tournament
Six teams took part in this Under 14 Girls’ competition. Falmouth CC entered two teams, the Diamonds and the Pearls, who were the eventual runners-up. The teams all played each other in a ‘round-robin’ group and the penultimate match saw Wadebridge defeat Matt Rowe’s Development Team by a wide enough margin to overtake them in second place. However, a surprise win for Grampound Road over Falmouth Pearls then meant that Wadebridge claimed the title on runs difference. This is the first year that they have fielded a girls’ team in matches and were understandably delighted with their success. Lisa’s All Stars were the other team taking part.
