St Blazey host first festival
At fairly short notice, a host club was required for the Kernow Under 10 festival and, new to youth cricket this year, St Blazey CC were quick to volunteer their services. The club has entered an Under 13 team in the Kernow District League and, with a number of keen younger children in their ranks already, felt ready to field an Under 10 team in yesterday's event. Six clubs took part: Camborne, Paul, Roche, Ladock and St Just were there as well.
Darren Kirwan led a team of around 15 volunteers on the day, making sure that the pitches were ready and refreshments provided. Teams were presented with a framed photo of their team and a gift of some sweets for the players. A great effort from the club and a welcome addtion to the CYCL programme.
