The ECB Cornwall Premier League season is set for a thrilling climax this weekend with Falmouth taking on Werrington twice in two days.

On Saturday, at Falmouth (12.30pm), the champions  Werrington take a nine point lead into the final game of the season. A Falmouth win, depending on bonus points, would see them lift the title for the first time since 1992.

The following day the pair meet again at St Austell CC (12.30pm) to contest the Premier 50/50 Cup Final. Falmouth beat Callington in the semi-final in June.

In today's semi-final replay Werrington beat St Just by 24 runs. Acting skipper Adam Hodgson held the Werrington innings together making 82 not out. St Just lost Neil Curnow and Gary Thomas to Chris Rees at 17 in the fourth over. That became 114-6 before Iain McPeake and Shakil Ahmed added 94 for the seventh wicket. Ahmed was last out for 64 with nine balls remaining.

Werrington – Werrington 237-8 (A Hodgson 82no, A Smeeth 49, D Johns 25, N Lawson 24, S Hockin 24; M George 3-51, S Ahmed 2-36, I McPeake 2-61),

St Just 213 (S Ahmed 64, I McPeake 39, G May 29, M George 26; C Rees 3-36, P Smith 2-26, A Smeeth 2-44, A Hodgson 2-59).

Werrington beat St Just by 24 runs and will meet Falmouth in the final at St Austell CC on Sunday 8 September at 12.30pm.
