Cornwall lose by 1 run at Banbury, Royal London Club Championship and Cornwall Women's League.
Cornwall lost by just one run in their opening Unicorns Trophy game with Oxfordshire at Banbury yesterday.
After Tommy Sturgess, on his debut, took a wicket with the first ball of the match Oxfordshire recovered to make 248 for 4. Lloys Sabin made 98 before being caught and bowled by 16 year old lewis Goldsworthy on debut.
In reply Tom Rowe made 82 and his brother Matthew hit 61 adding 153 for the second wicket. Debutant Dan Lello made 34 but with Sturgess and Scott Harvey needing 13 off the final over Cornwall fell just short on 247 for 7. Next up is Dorset at Grampound Road on Sunday 7 May.
Locally yesterday in the Royal London Club Championship Penzance romped to a ten wicket win over Bovey Tracey after the visitors were dismissed for 140. They will play Werrington in the second round after Falmouth conceded yesterday. Scorecard
