Luxury Cornish Ice Cream producers to sponsor triangular tournament in June
It has been announced that Lanivet based Luxury Cornish Ice Cream producers Treleavens are to sponsor a triangular Somerset/Cornwall/Devon T20 Trophy at Truro Cricket Club on Sunday June 25th. They will compete for the Treleavens Trophy.
Somerset CCC will be sending a team as part of the preparation for their Natwest T20 Blast campaign. The tournament is the result of the ever-closer links between Somerset and Cornwall which includes regular coaching of Cornwall youth players by Somerset coaches and local player Lewis Goldsworthy’s place in the Somerset Academy.
Simon Menneer, CEO of Cornwall Cricket, commenting on the announcement, said: “We are delighted to have such an iconic Cornish brand as a sponsor for this very exciting event and are extremely grateful to Treleavens for their crucial contribution.”
Mark Chrusciak, General Manager at Treleavens Luxury Cornish Ice Cream said: “Treleavens ice cream is extremely proud to be supporting this tournament, promoting Cricket and Cornwall, both are things we are passionate about. What could be more idyllic than watching cricket on a sunny day with some of Cornwall's finest ice cream?” Reasonably priced tickets (adults £5 for the whole day) will be on sale from mid-May.
