In the LWC Drinks Premier 40/40 Cup there was a tremendous batting performance by Penzance, who hit a massive 413 for three at home to St Just.

Antony Angove made 138 and Brad Wadlan 153.

St Just made 249 with Gareth May hitting 91 and Angove taking 4 for 23.

In the other West group game Hayle hit 181 at home Helston who replied with 185 for 4, to win by six wickets.

There was a high scoring game at Werrington where Mark Gribble made 111 in the home side’s 234 for 9.

Tom Sharp then made 98 as Truro  reached 238 for 5  to win by five wickets in the final over.

At Redruth Grampound Road scored 198 for 9 with Chris Roberts getting 81 and Craig Johnson taking 5 for 32.

Redruth replied with 191 all out to lose by 7 runs.

In County Division 1 Camborne, Rosudgeon, Troon and Wadebridge have won both opening games. The results were

Camborne 223 beat St  Minver 88 all out

Newquay 170 all out beat Lanhydrock 158 all out

Wadebridge 271 for 8 beat Roche 176 all out

Rosudgeon 140 all out beat Werrington seconds 116 all out

Troon 222 for 4 beat Gorran 161 all out
