CCL Statement re M Vermeulen

Statement by Cornwall Cricket League
Cornwall Cricket Board, or to be more precise the Cornwall Cricket League (CCL), has not received any request from any Cornish club to accept the registration of M. Vermeulen to play in the Cornwall Cricket League in 2016. Any Cornish cricket club wishing to register an overseas professional player must comply with League Rule 14.4 before they are able to nominate such a category of player.
14.4 |
Professional Overseas Players |
14.4.1 |
Clubs may obtain the services of one professional overseas player/coach. Clubs must apply to the Border Agency for a sponsor's licence before they can employ an overseas player/coach under the ‘points based managed migration system’. Rules 14.3.1.1, 14.3.2 and 14.3.3 still apply |
The CCL has not received any such request subject to rule 14.4 regarding M Vermeulen ; the CCL understands that, to date, this player does not comply with the requirements of this rule and no Cornish Club can seek league registration of an overseas professional player until a sponsor's licence has been issued by the Authorities. The CCL fully supports penalties imposed pursuant to any discipline or relevant regulations of all competitions under the auspices of County Boards as defined and listed in the ECB Articles of Association and any other competitions as directed by ECB.
