The Jolly’s Drinks ECB Cornwall Premier League is building up for a thrilling climax after St Just regained the lead yesterday.
With two games remaining St Just lead Truro by a single point, ahead of their clash at Boscawen Park next week.
Truro lost at St Austell by 19 runs after a remarkable fightback from the home side.
After being 85 for 6 they recovered to 198 for 7 thanks to Mike Bone’s 103 and Kyle van Rooyen’s 59 not out.
Truro were restricted to 179 for 8 in reply.
Meanwhile St Just took maximum points after beating Newquay by seven wickets.
Mark Vermeulen made 92 in Newquay’s 135 all out.
Skipper Gareth May hit 62 in St Just’s 136 for 3.
Penzance are favourites for third spot after a big 192 run win at Grampound Road.
Four Penzance batsmen got fifties in their 287 for 8 led by Greg Smith with 61.
The Road were all out for 95.
Helston narrowly beat Werrington by five runs after being 202 all out.
Werrington ended on 197 for 8.
Falmouth beat Redruth by 64 runs after scoring 175 all out.
In a recovery Jordan Thomas hit 60.
Redruth were dismissed for 113.
In County Division 1 Hayle are closing in on the title after beating rivals Ludgvan by 129 runs.
Richard Hall took 8 for 35 to leave Hayle needing a maximum of 19 points from their two remaining games.
Meanwhile Beacon’s relegation was confirmed following their home defeat to Camborne.

Hayle 238 for 7 beat Ludgvan 109 all out
Camborne 185 for 9 beat Beacon 167 all out
Callington 135 all out lost to Werrington seconds 136 for 5
Roche 136 all out lost to Gorran 137 for 4
Rosudgeon 205 all out beat St Gluvias 150 all out
Wadebridge 196 all out beat St Minver 182 for 9
Today’s Cornwall Women’s game, away to Wiltshire, has been cancelled due to a waterlogged ground at Purton.
