The Jolly’s Drinks Cornwall Cricket League season ended in a thrilling finale with both the ECB Premier League title race and relegation battle going down to the final hour of the season.

Werrington retained the title after drawing a tense game at Falmouth.

Falmouth made 164 all out.

Knowing a draw was enough Werrington ended on 147 for three with Alex Smeeth making 74 not out.

Redruth finished bottom on virtually the last ball of the season.

They held on for a draw at home to Grampound Road who made 181 for 9.

Redruth ended on 141 for 9 in reply.

Meanwhile there was drama at St Austell when the game with Paul was abandoned due to bad light, with more than 10 overs remaining.

Paul made 173 all out and St Austell were 151 for 9 when play was halted.

Had the final wicket fallen then Redruth would have survived by a single point, at St Austell’s expense.

The Callington v Truro and St Just v Camborne games were cancelled due to wet grounds.
