As we all start winding down for the festive break the Club Support Team want to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year...We hope you have a relaxing break and come back rejuvenated ready for all that the 2016 season will bring!!
2015 has been a great year for club cricket and here are just a few standout acheivements...
- 2,276 clubs took part in NatWest CricketForce
- £2.5 million was distributed to 801 clubs through the Small Grants Scheme, supported by Waitrose
- Nearly 200 clubs signed up to deliver activity part of the This Girl Can...Play Cricket initiative
- 1,240 clubs delivered a Club Open Day attracting over 50,000 people to local cricket clubs
- Over 450 clubs participating in the NatWest U19 Club T20 competition, with more than 1000 matches being played over the summer
Furthermore in 2015 ECB's recreational initiative Get the Game On launched and ensured :
- 198 League Campaign managers were recruited to support local activity
- 6% more fixtures were played in 2015 compared to 2014
- 32 leagues changed their start time
- 15 leagues reduced their travel time
3 leagues changed their wet weather rules
The ECB would like to bring to your attention the decision in late November by the ECB Board to endorse changes to the regulations governing the use of helmets across the professional and recreational game.
ECB is recommending that all recreational cricketers wear helmets which meet the latest British safety standard from next season. The use of protective headgear is already mandatory for all Under 18s within the recreational game.

We are pleased to confirm the Jewson Privilege Account Scheme will return in 2016!!
This funding will be open to NatWest CricketForce registered clubs only and is designed to support clubs undertaking maintenance jobs as they prepare for the season ahead. As in previous years there will be a limited number of Jewson Privilege accounts and they will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
An email containing further information will be sent to all NatWest CricketForce registered clubs in the new year, with details of the scheme being published on the ECB website.
