St Just’s lead has been extended to 26 points at the top of the Jolly’s Drinks ECB Cornwall Premier League after they narrowly won at Redruth and Truro lost at Penzance.
At Trewirgie Redruth made 150 for 9 with St Just reaching 153 for 8 in reply.
Second played third at Penzance with Truro recovering to make 232 all out after Tom Sharp made 62.
Greg Smith then hit 61 as Penzance won by five wickets.
Helston won by 30 runs at Grampound Road in a game reduced to 44 overs.
Gavin Tregenza’s 78 saw Helston to 245 all out.
Matt Robins made 68 in the Road’s 215 all out.
Newquay made 130 for eight at home to St Austell
The visitors romped home by 10 wickets with Andrew Libby 63 not out and Gary Bone 62 not out.
Heavy rain in North Cornwall saw Werrington’s home game with Falmouth cancelled im mid afternoon..
In County Division 1 St Minver have opened up a 29 point gap at the top after beating Werrington seconds by nine wickets.
